I Know. Me Too.

I Know. Me Too.

I am on the couch right now knowing I have things to do.

A real list. Things that matter. Things I care about. Things that have been sitting there longer than I want to admit. And I am here. Scrolling. Watching. Telling myself I will start in a few minutes. Or after this episode. Or tomorrow when I have more energy.

I named this blog Quenched because I need water too. This is one of those days.

So before I say anything else I want you to know I am not writing this from the other side of the problem. I am writing it from the couch. Right where you are.

And I am not here to tell you to get up.

But I do want to name what is actually underneath the scrolling. Because it is not laziness. It is never really laziness.

It is fear that it will not be good enough. It is overwhelm because the list is so long you do not know where to start. It is perfectionism sitting at the starting line telling you that if you cannot do it perfectly you might as well not start at all. It is exhaustion from already giving everything to everything else and having nothing left for the things that are yours.

All four of them at once.

And so you scroll. Not because you do not care. Because you care so much and the weight of it is heavy and the couch is right there.

I see you in that. Because I am in it too.

Here is what I want you to know before you put the phone down tonight.

He is not standing over your list with a clipboard. He is not disappointed. He is not counting the days you did not move. He is not measuring your worth by what got done this week.

He is waiting on us. Already leaning in our direction. Already ready for the moment each of us takes one step toward the thing, He placed in us.

Not ten steps. One.

"Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you. Therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him." Isaiah 30:18

He is not rushing you. He is longing to be gracious to you. He already has a plan for what happens when you move. He is just waiting for you to take the first step.

The list will still be there tomorrow. So will He. And He will still be longing to be gracious when you finally pick it up.

We just need to move.

Whenever we are ready.

P.S. My Daily Bread is for the days the list feels too heavy to pick up. One verse already where you can see it before the guilt gets loud. girlbossprays.com
