It’s Not Just the AC—It’s Everything
It’s 89 degrees in my house, and the AC is acting up. I wish I had a deep spiritual revelation for you this week, but honestly? I’m just trying not to lose it.
It’s hard to be “grateful” when you’re sweating. Hard to feel “blessed and highly favored” when the air is thick and still. And harder to keep your cool—literally and emotionally—when life just keeps turning up the heat.
This week reminded me that even small things can push us to the edge when we’re already running low. Maybe it’s not your AC, but maybe your kids, your job, your relationship, or your own expectations have been wearing you down too.
It’s those moments when I want to throw my hands up. But instead, I’m trying to be honest—with myself and with God.
Not deep. Just.
“Lord, I’m hot. I’m tired. I’m frustrated. And I need help.”
The Lord is good, a stronghold in a day of distress; he cares for those who take refuge in him. Nahum 1:7 CSB
If you’re in a season where it feels like everything is “just one more thing”… you’re not alone. I’m here, sweaty and slightly annoyed, still believing that God is faithful even when life feels like a slow boil.
This week, we’re not faking peace. We’re asking for it.
And that’s enough.
